History

Here we present our company history since its foundation in 1938.
OPA

1938

Establishment of a drugstore with the production of violin varnishes in Schönbach/Eger by Josef Hammerl.

1946

After expulsion by the Tschechoslowakia in Loinbruck / Oberbayern with the production and dispatch of violin varnishes.

1949

A fresh start in Baiersdorf in Middle Franconia together with a drugstore.

1954

Entrance of son Reiner Hammerl into the parental business.

1985

Josef Hammerl transfers the management to his son Reiner Hammerl.

1992

Our company began to concentrate on producing and shipping violin varnish and accessories for varnishing musical instruments.

1998

Company founder Josef Hammerl retired after 65 successful years of work, while his grandson Michael Hammerl joined the company.

2004

In June 2004, we launched our first online shop, where you could conveniently buy our products worldwide.

2016

This year we launched our new modern online shop, which has now been firmly linked to our new inventory management system. Orders can be shipped even faster. Since then, you have also stored the shipping data of your parcel and the invoice in your online shop.

2018

In the meantime, we can look back on 80 years of experience in the production of high-quality special varnish for string instruments, and therefore, many years of meeting the highest demands of violin makers all over the world.
